Offers Child Abuse Prevention Programs

 

Parent Education Programs/ Parents Anonymous® Support:

 

General Population

Parenting curriculum/ ongoing support for anyone caring

for children, whether it be…parents, grand parents,

 foster/adoptive parents, single parents etc…..

 

Pregnant teens/ Teen Parents

Specialized curriculum for teens from pregnancy and

birth - 3yrs. of age.

 

Incarcerated Parents

Specialized curriculum specifically for incarcerated parents

that will be reuniting with their families.

 

Child Care Workers

Specific topics relevant to child care workers needs to fulfill

their continuing education requirements.

            

Adult Probation

Three hour session on parenting, as part of a week long life skills class,

for those on probation. (Program is currently in Wood County)

 

Shaken Baby Syndrome

Can be grouped with the above mentioned parent education

programs or as a stand alone presentation.

 

Stewards of Children

A program, for any professional staff (schools, doctor office,

childcare etc.) dealing with children, that provides curriculum

to teach recognition, reaction, and reporting signs and

symptoms of child abuse.

 

Child/Parent Education Programs:

 

P.S. It’s My Body

A personal safety program for school age children from

Pre-K through Middle school that teaches the 3 R’s...to Recognize, Resist,

and Report abuse. This program empowers the child to say “NO” when presented

with an unwelcome touch, encourages them to tell a safe adult and, if they are

not believed, to tell and tell again, and that the unwelcome touch is

 “NEVER EVER THEIR FAULT”.  This program also teaches 

about bullying, harassment, what is a stranger and much more.

 

NetSmartz

The NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational safety

resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC)

and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for children ages 5 to 17, parents, guardians, educators, and law enforcement that uses age-appropriate, 3-D

activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet.

 

There are many prevention programs we offer. We have the

means to coordinate  presentations and/or curriculum based on the
