SAFVIC (Sexual Assault Family Violence) Investigator Course, 24hrs of TECLEOSE course 3264

 

July 16, 17 & 18 @ Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center from 8am - 5pm each day (w/ 1 & 1/2hr  lunch break)

 

SAFVIC is designed to provide law enforcement tools to effectively investigate and prevent sexual assault and family violence. This course covers crucial aspects of law enforcement response as well as the creation and use of community-based resources.

 

Presenter: Kim Basinger, RN, CA-CP SANE, SANE-A, trainer for the Attorney General’s Office, owner of S.A.F.E. Solutions, SANE coordinator for Titus Regional Medical Center and NETCAC, Police Officer for Commerce Police Department.

Fall 2008 - NETCAC will offer School Violence Prevention and Intervention along with School Crisis Response by presenter Angela McCown, from Texas Department of Public Safety.

Text Box: WOW! What a month we have had!

April is Child Abuse Prevention/Awareness Month

	Kid Safe Saturday - was a great turn out! Our volunteers passed along information about the center. Happy Bear even made a special appearance! In the contest “How many bears are in the honey pot?” we had two winners with the closest amounts! The correct amount was 1056, Natalie Cruz (age 7) from Sulphur Springs guessed 1057 and Klain Thomas (age 3) from Dike guessed 1096. WOW...Great Job Guys!

	Volunteer Appreciation Banquet - was wonderful! We had great food, great
friends, and a great time! Thank you volunteers for another great year! 

	Hope and Help Conference - Provided a lot of great information about Internet Safety! 

	Candle Light Vigil - We heard a great message from District Attorney Greg Abbott and Winnsboro Elementary Children's Choir came out and sang beautifully for the evening. It was a good turn out and we had several NETCAC volunteers passing out information about the center. We even had 2 junior volunteers helping to pass out programs and ribbons! It was a beautiful ceremony.

	May 6th we had our Annual Golf Tournament -The heavy rain that morning could not keep these great golfers away! Thankfully the rain passed and we had a beautiful day and a great turn out with 125 golfers attending! To all the sponsors, volunteers, the ladies of the Holly Lake Women's Guild (who baked the outstanding desserts) and the staff at the Holly Lake Ranch (happy to help and make us all welcome) we thank you for another successful year and helping us to 
“Break the Cycle of Abuse, One Child at a Time”!

NETCAC’s Winnsboro Volunteer Chapter will be hosting it’s

First Annual “Celebrate the Child within You!” Ladies’ Dinner

 

The date is set for Friday, July 25th @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. We encourage all ladies to attend. Ticket prices and further details on the event will be posted soon.
